WInd Turbine Application Withdrawn

Just to let anyone that is interested know the application was withdrawn on 24th Nov 2011. You can look at the planning site for more info.

The withdrawal does say that they may re-submit later, but the EA (Environment Agency) had objection because of the specified land use and the potential hazard digging deep foundations would have on the leaking Leachate levels from the old landfill site and the fact that it would be built on contaminated land and possibly cause more contaimination. You can read the exact details in the documents on the planning site.

I know it’s not a very good mock-up – I don’t confess to being an artist of any sort, well at least not a photoshop one. But hopefully you get the gist of impact of this monstrosity.
